I decided to translate my pendants technique into some larger sized canvases. This is 5″ x 5″ x 1 1/4″. So still small, but really a lot of fun to paint and collage. I used several layers of paint and collaged elements. I’m really into incorporating words into my work, so in this piece I cut out a tree from my fancy paper stash, the border around the tree from the newspaper and then the word grow and its meaning from my dictionary. I was thinking of children when I made this, but it would really work for any age!
Archive for May 12th, 2006I was busy yesterday making pendants and some smaller paintings using 5″ x 5″ canvases that I had on hand. I would have been more productive if I hadn’t spent all morning online! The 2 bottom left gingko leaf pendants are in the final glazing stage and will be ready to list for sale tomorrow. I made these primarily as a response to my MIL who wanted something a little more sophisticated than the fun colors I normally gravitate towards. |
