Large White Bottle

My thrown ceramic bottles were quite popular at the Market last weekend. I sold all but 1 of them, including this one. I also had requests for more, so I know I have work to do. They are really more sculptural than functional, although one could put a single flower or grass stem in this vase.

I need to get my studio in order and test my kiln before I can do that. This bottle is approximately 12″ tall and 6 ” wide at the base. The neck of the bottle is 4″ x 1″. It is porcelain with a matte white glaze on the body. The neck is dipped in celadon.

It has finally cooled off here in Denver! On Wed. we reached a high of 102 degrees fahrenheit. A record for the date! Even the rattle snakes were hot! Many people in the metro area have had several close encounters with this reptile trying to find a cooler place to rest. Garages and plantings close to homes are popular hiding places.

Have a good weekend!
