Like many women today, I am a good multi-tasker. I’m not sure if this is good or not, but, I’ve adapted and it seems to work for me. Today, I finished 2 acrylic paintings/ACEOs, worked on my paper mache shrines and some more quilted mini works. In between, I cleaned a little, got on the computer, took out the trash…you get the picture.
I’m not sure if it’s because my studio is at home that allows me to be so distracted or what. I’m sure this affects others who work at home too. If I worked in a studio away from home, I would probably be more focused…but then again, it might feel more like work. As it stands, I really enjoy doing what I do! I wouldn’t trade my home office, even if I might just be a little more productive if I did.
These are both acrylic on paper, 3.5 x 2.5 inches. To view all of my artwork that is available to purchase via auction, click here.

I am really having a lot of fun with this new medium! Right now, it just seems as if the possibilites are endless! I need to get to the fabric store…STAT.
This went a little faster than yesterday’s, though I had a few more technical problems that I hope to have resolved or at least work on for my next few textile works.
ACEO (art cards editions and originals) sized, 3.5 x 2.5 inches. Fabric, beads, applique, embroidery floss, thread and wire hanger.
Bidding starts at .99.

I’m pretty excited about this one, and the first thing out of my daughter’s mouth when she saw this was, “can I have it?” That’s always a good sign.
I used the design from “Bird House” ACEO as my template. I was limited, however, by the fabric that I have on hand. I feel the urge to go to the fabric store…oh this could be dangerous. Luckily, I’m working small and quarter fat squares of fabric are fairly inexpensive. I’m even thinking of trying my hand at batik and other fabric dying methods.
This is a mixed media piece, fabric, thread, applique, beads and a touch of embroidery. I finished off the piece with a galvanized wire hanger. I have purchased some textile aceos before and didn’t really know what to do with them. They’re too pretty to stow away, so I thought about putting them in a shadow box. But, this will allow me, or whomever purchases these, to hang them up on the wall immediately!
3.5 x 2.5 inches.
