Art of the day on EBSQ!

Hello everyone! I’m playing catch up on emails, blogs, etc. after a weekend of over-indulgence, celebration and Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that today, one of my mini-fabric quilted ACEOs was selected as the “Art of the Day” on EBSQ. The theme this week is Stars!

Meanwhile, back on the farm, the temps have been in the 40’s the past few days and lots of snow melt is wreaking havoc on our humble abode. We found water in our basement family room and are spending the morning, ripping up the carpet, wet-vacuuming the basement and trying to dry it out as best we can before the next storm hits on Thursday. This one is not expected to be as big…only 6″ or so.

My in-laws are on a plane on their way back to Texas as I write, where it is hopefully warmer and drier. I hope to get some work done in my studio this week as things settle back to more of a routine.

    Wet basements are the worst.

That must make you feel pretty good, and as it should. congratulations.

I am a little behind you, but hey I have my wood, have my sealer, have my gesso all lined up :) I just need to start preparing the studio for the start of a new series of work.

sorry to hear about your family room getting water in it, arg!!!!!!

The basement is slowly drying out. I think most of the melt is passed, and once we figured where the source was, my husband went out and shoveled all the snow away from the foundation and hooked up an extension to the gutter. Luckily, colorado is very dry, so we should be all better by the end of the week. I think the ground was just really saturated. Our 24″ of snow now looks like about 8″.

Congratulations Cynthia on the Art of the Day, it is well deserved.

Cyn, I can see why your star mini quilt was picked for “Art of the Day” and a big congrats…it’s really gorgeous!!
eek I’m sorry about the water in your basement and I read tonight that Denver got more snow! I wouldn’t mind a little of the white stuff here, it’s been mild but we usually get the ice storms here in Jan. through Feb.

Congrats on the art of the day, love this star quilt.

I’m guessing you had lots more snow in the past couple days, hope the basement is ok! :(
We had close to a foot of snow down here, which is unusual for being in the city.
