Welcome! My name is Cynthia Guajardo and I am a graduate student studying landscape architecture at the University of Colorado at Denver. In my spare time, I make functional pottery, ceramic jewelry and wall pieces using stoneware and porcelain clays out of my Denver, CO based studio.
After a 17 year career with a major airline, I returned to school in 2002 and began my exploration of clay under the tutelage of Ray Chen at the University of Southern Maine in beautiful New England. After moving to Colorado, I continued my ceramic studies with Mary Cay, a former instructor at the Art Student’s League of Denver where I have been a member since 2004.
In 2006, I stopped taking classes at the ASLD, and began working out of my studio which is just a few steps outside my back door. I was juried into the Colorado Potters Guild in February 2008 which has 40 lifelong members. The Colorado Potters Guild holds two biannual sales in May and November where a variety of work is sold.
In addition to making ceramic work, I have also taught after school clay classes in Denver and have taught kid’s art camps at both the Art Students League of Denver and Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, CO.
I can be reached by email at cynthia at coloradoartstudio dot com or visit my contact page. I can also be reached by phone at 303-949-6787. If I don’t answer, please leave me a message and I will call you back.
