This photo represents a new venture for me. While I have made jewelry before using beads, PMC and my own ceramic pendants, these are made from chip board! Each of these will be mini-abstract wearable paintings. I’ve prepared 10 1″ square canvases, drilled holes and gessoed them in preparation of painting them using acrylics. I’ve started 5 so far and hope to have one finished by this evening. I’m really excited about these and feel like I have an infinite number of design ideas. At midnight last night, I finally had to stop because I was so tired. I like that these are affordable, funky and unique. I will be offering these for sale on Etsy by the end of the week.

Work in Progress

Work in Progress

I have 2 paintings that I started approximately 2 weeks ago that are still sitting on my easel. Both are abstracted landscapes from a study that I have used before. In the first one, I have tried to maintain the negative shape of a tree, horizon line and moon (or sun don’t know which yet). For the second one I have laid a textured ground from which I am going to compose my painting. I have “drawn” into modeling medium on the canvas and will add paint color later. I was waiting for it to cure, but after 2 weeks time, I would imagine that it has “cured” long enough, don’t you think?

New Work in Progress.

Over at MSN spaces, I enjoyed sharing a work in progress that was different from the way that I normally work. I painted a rose by reducing a photograph that I had taken last summer into simple shapes by using Photoshop. I’m going to do another one, this time painting an orange sunflower.

Finished Painting

I’m moving over to blogger from MSN Spaces!
