I started this one a couple of weeks ago and then got side-tracked…that does seem to happen a lot don’t you think? I seriously wonder if I have ADHD. And what’s up with the take out theme? I don’t know. I just love take out, especially anything Asian. I even keep the boxes the food comes in, because I just never know when or how I might need to use these. Speaking of which, I used a take out box as my template for this. Pulled it apart and cut my fabric to size.

I knew I wanted to embellish it but was stuck, until the idea of adding an applique of a skull and crossbones came into my head. Who knows how this happens anyway. Connections are made, ideas stored, and presto it seems right. I had started to use embroidery floss to accent the skull and crossbones. But at the rate I was going , I knew it would be a long time before I finished this one. Remember, I have a tendency to have many interests at the same time.

So, after completing my Mona Lisa fabric postcard, and mastering my sewing machine a little more, I decided to machine stitch the rest of the take out box. I did finish this piece with some buttons and French knots in order to close the box. This is currently available for sale on Etsy, unless of course, I change my mind and keep it myself!
