2007
I hadn’t checked my emails for a few days this past weekend and when I finally signed onto my computer on January 1st, I was pleasantly surprised to find an email in my inbox from EBSQ asking if I would like to be one of two “Featured Artists” for the month of February. The owner, Amie Gillingham, then mentioned that one of the January artists had dropped out and if I were interested I could take one of January’s slots. I thought about it, and decided what the hell…let’s start 2007 off on a positive note!
I spent yesterday responding to the interview questions, so please forgive me if there’s more than a bit of hokey to some of my answers. I think writing it under pressure was probably a good thing, since I didn’t have time to procrastinate or dwell too much on the questions and answers. Probably the most difficult part of the exercise was choosing a mere 6 images of my work that reflects past and present work.

Hello everyone! I’m playing catch up on emails, blogs, etc. after a weekend of over-indulgence, celebration and Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that today, one of my mini-fabric quilted ACEOs was selected as the “Art of the Day” on EBSQ. The theme this week is Stars!
Meanwhile, back on the farm, the temps have been in the 40’s the past few days and lots of snow melt is wreaking havoc on our humble abode. We found water in our basement family room and are spending the morning, ripping up the carpet, wet-vacuuming the basement and trying to dry it out as best we can before the next storm hits on Thursday. This one is not expected to be as big…only 6″ or so.
My in-laws are on a plane on their way back to Texas as I write, where it is hopefully warmer and drier. I hope to get some work done in my studio this week as things settle back to more of a routine.
