*New* I am no longer teaching pottery or other art classes because I have decided to return to graduate school fall 2009 now that my own daughter is starting middle school and doesn’t seem to need me around as much any more.  (Funny how that happens….)  I am open to teaching summer art camps in the future, schedule permitting.

Previously, I have taught youth clay camps at the Art Student’s League of Denver,  Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, CO and ran a successful after school clay class at Denver Public Schools.

I have previously taught after school clay classes from 2007 – 2009 at Steele Elementary which was a part of the PTA’s Enrichment Program.  Each class ran for 6 – 8 weeks in length for children in 2nd through 5th grade and I taught approximately 4-5 sessions a school year.  These were exciting classes for both the children and me because we really explored different things that can be made out of clay including functional pottery, decorative sculptures, wearable art, historical forms, and even playable games.  The children often helped me with ideas for projects and since I had so many repeat students, I tried hard not to duplicate projects.

Other places I’ve taught art/clay classes include the Art Student’s League and Anderson Ranch Arts Center:
